DESCRIPTION
What is natural herbal hair coloring?
Sattva Ayurveda natural herbal hair dyes are an alternative to traditional chemical hair dyes. They use the properties of plant-based pigments, such as henna, indigo and cassia, to achieve a variety of hair shades – from warm golden and copper tones through browns to deep black.
Unlike conventional chemical hair dyes, herbal coloring does not lighten the hair's natural pigment. Plant-based pigments bind to the hair, giving it color while potentially improving its appearance, shine and visual volume.
The final result depends on the chosen shade, natural hair color, hair condition and previous coloring treatments.
Natural herbal hair dyes can help to:
Give hair a new shade or enhance its natural color.
Create warm or cool highlights, depending on the chosen blend.
Darken hair without using traditional chemical dyes.
Add natural shine to the hair.
Make hair appear stronger and visibly thicker.
Color results may be more intense on light and gray hair. For darker shades and gray coverage, a two-step coloring process may be necessary, involving the application of henna followed by a suitable herbal blend.
The final color develops and stabilizes within 24–48 hours after coloring.
Herbal hair coloring is recommended for people who:
Are looking for a natural alternative to traditional hair dyes.
Want to change or enhance their natural hair color.
Want to achieve natural-looking shades and highlights.
Want to combine hair coloring with hair care.
Prefer products based on plant-derived ingredients.
HOW TO USE
Before coloring, wash your hair with a silicone-free shampoo to thoroughly cleanse it and remove any residue from hair care products. Prepare the mixture by combining the appropriate amount of powder with water at the temperature recommended for your chosen shade, stirring until a smooth paste forms. The water temperature may vary depending on the composition of the herbal blend. Wear protective gloves to prevent staining your hands.
Divide your hair into four sections and apply the prepared paste evenly from roots to ends. After applying the mixture, wrap your hair in plastic wrap and cover it with a towel to maintain the appropriate temperature during coloring. Leave the mixture on your hair for the time recommended for the selected product, usually between 1 and 3 hours.
After coloring, rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water without using shampoo. The color will continue to develop over the next 24–48 hours, so it is recommended to avoid washing your hair with shampoo during this time.
Before first use, perform a patch test on a small area of skin and a strand test on a single section of hair.
When covering gray hair with darker shades, a two-step coloring process may be necessary.
